Obverse description The obverse features the Haitian coat of arms centrally positioned in the field: a palm tree flanked by two cannon on wheeled carriages, with flags and trophies of arms arranged symmetrically on either side. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE D'HAYTI runs along the periphery, with the denomination 12 C indicated in the lower portion of the design. The engraving is bold and in moderate relief, consistent with early republican Haitian coinage.
