The obverse presents a standing allegorical figure of Athena in classical robes, holding a spear and a shield bearing the Gorgon head, set against a background vignette of the Acropolis and a coastal seascape. A guilloche rosette to the right carries the denomination numeral '25', with the bank title in Greek characters at upper right and an alphanumeric serial number below it; the printer's imprint of Waterlow & Sons Limited appears at the lower margin. |
