| Obverse description | Forepart of a roaring lion advancing to the right, the head reverted to the left in the characteristic Milesian style. The lion's mane is rendered in a bold, granular or stippled relief, with the open jaws clearly articulated. The design occupies the full flan, executed in confident archaic Greek style with no inscription or legend in the field. |

| Reverse description | A symmetrical eight-petalled floral or stellate ornament, centrally placed within a square incuse punch. The petals radiate from a raised central boss, alternating with concave lunate segments to produce a balanced, pinwheel-like rosette design. The incuse square is deeply impressed with relatively straight sides, characteristic of early Ionian coinage technique. No legend or additional devices appear in the field. |
