Obverse description Bearded head of Zeus Ammon in three-quarter facing view, turned slightly to the right, with a prominent ram's horn curving over and behind the ear, rendered in a bold, archaic style characteristic of Kyrenaican coinage. The deity's hair is rendered in tight, stylized curls framing the forehead, and the facial features are strongly modeled with a broad nose and parted lips. The legend API appears to the left of the bust in the field, serving as an abbreviation for the magistrate's name Aristagoras. The coin is set within a beaded border. The whole is struck on a small, irregularly shaped gold flan typical of fractional Kyrenaic issues.
