| Obverse description | Laureate and armored bust of Emperor Ferdinand II facing right, depicted with a short beard and moustache, wearing elaborately engraved plate armor with a prominent gorget and a chain of the Order of the Golden Fleece across the chest. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the Baroque style characteristic of early seventeenth-century German goldsmith work. A circular beaded inner border frames the portrait, with the Latin legend reading FERDINAND II D GRO IM S A G H B REX O distributed around the periphery. |

| Reverse description | Crowned imperial double-headed eagle displayed in high relief, its wings spread, bearing on its breast a large quartered shield of the Habsburg dynastic arms incorporating the bars of Aragon, the castle of Castile, the Hungarian stripes, and the Austrian fess, among other quarterings. The imperial crown surmounts the eagle above, with the date 1633 flanking the crown. The encircling Latin legend ARCHIDVX AVS DVX BVRG TY 1633 runs along the outer border, separated by pellet stops, referencing Ferdinand's titles as Archduke of Austria and Duke of Burgundy and Tyrol. |
