| Obverse description | Cast silver coin with a central square perforation framed by a raised square collar. Four large Sino-Vietnamese characters arranged in the traditional reading order — top, bottom, right, left — around the central aperture, reading 嗣德通寶 (Tu Duc Thong Bao), meaning 'Current treasure of Tu Duc.' The characters are boldly rendered in relief against a plain, slightly granular field. A raised rim encircles the entire obverse, consistent with Vietnamese Nguyen dynasty casting conventions. |

| Reverse description | Cast silver reverse featuring a central square perforation enclosed within a raised square border. Four boldly cast Chinese characters disposed in cruciform arrangement around the central hole, reading 壹錢富壽 (Yi Qian Fu Shou), meaning 'One tien, wealth and longevity,' denoting both the denomination and an auspicious inscription. The characters are deeply struck in high relief against a flat, lightly textured field. A continuous raised rim borders the reverse, uniform in style with the obverse. |
