Obverse description A richly detailed sylvan scene occupies the entire field, depicting a standing armored figure — likely Duke Frederick I — in the foreground at center, wearing classical military dress and gesturing toward a large, spreading tree that dominates the composition. Scattered around the base of the tree are military trophies including drums, cannons, and other martial implements, while livestock and figures are visible in the middle ground amid a dense landscape. The scene is rendered in high relief with exceptional artistic detail characteristic of the finest late 17th-century German Baroque die-cutting. The circumference bears the legend FREDERICUS D G DUX SAX I C & M A & W LANDG THUR M I MISN COM HENN. Mint-master initials appear in the lower field.
