Obverse description Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Constantine I facing right, wearing an elaborate jewelled diadem with prominent rosette ornaments and pendant strings of pearls falling behind the ear. The emperor's effigy is rendered in the idealized late Roman imperial style, with finely engraved hair swept forward beneath the diadem and paludamentum fastened at the right shoulder by a fibula. The surrounding Latin legend reads CONSTANTI-NVS MAX AVG, distributed around the field within a beaded border.
