| Reverse description | A full frontal view of the Borodino memorial column-chapel, erected on the battlefield of Borodino to commemorate the 27th anniversary of the battle, dominates the central field. The monument features a tall obelisk-like column rising from a Gothic-arched chapel base with ornate niches, surmounted by a faceted onion-shaped dome crowned with a cross. The monument rests on a stepped platform set against an open field. The surrounding Cyrillic legend, divided on both sides, records the battle date and the inauguration date of the monument. The denomination 1½ РУБЛЯ appears in the exergue at the base. |
