Obverse description Central field bears a large interlaced GW royal cypher, the letters deeply intertwined in an elegant Baroque manner. Surmounting the monogram is a ducal crown adorned with fleurs-de-lis and pearled band, rendered in bold relief. The plain field surrounding the device is devoid of legend or additional ornamentation, lending emphasis to the central monogram. The overall design reflects the restrained but dignified style characteristic of late 17th-century German territorial coinage.
