| Obverse description | Central shield bearing the ducal arms of Saxony, displaying alternating horizontal barry stripes with bezenté and a diagonal bend sinister charged with three heraldic leaves or Rautenkranz sprigs. The legend S.W.u.E. (Sachsen-Weimar und Eisenach) arcs along the upper portion of the field in bold raised Latin lettering. The shield is rendered in fine detail with engraved cross-hatching and pellets denoting the tinctures. The overall design is unframed within a plain, flat field. |
