| Obverse description | Uniface half-circle planchet bearing crudely incised inscription arranged across the field. The date 1799 appears along the straight upper edge, with the denomination 3 KR and the abbreviation Milit. (for Militär, denoting military issue) struck below in the central field. A rudimentary crowned shield device is visible in the centre of the field, consistent with the emergency nature of this siege coinage. The lettering is irregular and characteristic of hastily produced wartime necessity pieces. |

| Additional information |
Týn nad Vltavou issued emergency lead coinage in 1799 during the disruptions of the French Revolutionary Wars, when conventional copper supply chains across Bohemia were badly strained. Siege and necessity coinages of this type were authorized at the local level and rarely circulated beyond the immediate district — which explains why survivors tend to appear in surprisingly decent condition despite their crude production.
Herber #12 is among the scarcer documented varieties of this issue. Lead, chosen purely for availability, gave these pieces a short functional life under normal wear conditions.
