Issued to commemorate the Pullman-operated air-rail service that connected Paris and London in the late 1920s and 1930s, a journey combining boat train, cross-Channel flight, and onward rail that marketed itself as the pinnacle of interwar travel. The 1½ euro denomination was a short-lived Monnaie de Paris experiment used across a collector series in the early 2000s — never legal tender in any practical sense, produced purely for the numismatic market.
