| Reverse description | The reverse displays the official shield-shaped crest of Olympique Lyonnais in high relief at the center of the field, featuring the club's initials 'OL' alongside a rampant lion passant within a circular medallion. The legend 'OLYMPIQUE LYONNAIS' is inscribed within the upper portion of the heraldic shield device. Surrounding the lower arc of the coin, a circular legend reads 'CHAMPION DE LIGUE 1' followed by the seven consecutive championship years '2002 · 2003 · 2004 · 2005 · 2006 · 2007 · 2008', commemorating the club's record-breaking run of French football league titles. |

| Additional information |
Monnaie de Paris issued a series of football club pieces in 2009 under a broader licensed collectibles program, with Olympique Lyonnais among the clubs included largely because the side had just completed a record seventh consecutive Ligue 1 title in 2008. The denomination itself — 1½ euro — has no practical monetary circulation use and exists purely as a legal-tender technicality.
OL's dominance through the 2000s was the commercial hook that justified the issue.
