| Obverse description | The obverse features an intricate, swirling composition of three interlocking circular bands, each inscribed with the denomination '1 1/2 EURO' and the names of the twelve eurozone member states in their respective national languages. Embedded within the bands are detailed relief renderings of two circulating euro coins — the French 1 euro Semeuse and a German euro coin — evocative of the currency's pan-European character.
