| Obverse description | Large irregular square copper plate bearing five struck impressions: one central stamp and four corner stamps. The central stamp, circular and beaded, displays the denomination legend '1 DALER Söff:Mÿt' in three lines within the field, surmounted by a small floral ornament and concluded by a five-pointed star below. A secondary circular stamp to the right of center appears to bear a date. Each of the four corner stamps carries a crowned lion passant within a circular border, surrounded by the Latin royal legend 'CAROLUS·XII·D:G:SVE:GOT:WAN:REX' with the date 1710 or a related host-coin year, characteristic of the Swedish copper plate money (plåtmynt) coinage system in which the value stamp was applied to a heavy cast and rolled copper plate. |
