| Reverse description | The reverse retains the residual design of the host Spanish or Spanish Colonial 8 Reales coin from which the circular plug was excised. The surviving elements consist of fragmentary devices and legends from the original host coin's obverse or reverse, rendered in worn and partially obliterated relief. The details are indistinct due to the nature of the plug-cutting process, which selectively preserved only a portion of the host coin's imagery within the small circular flan. |
