| Obverse description | The upper field depicts a panoramic view of the Gaeta coastline with its promontory and fortifications, before which the Italian naval fleet is deployed in formation on the sea. The lower field contains an inscription tablet reading GAETA - 14 · VII · 1961, followed by the names of the assembled vessels arranged in rows. Three heraldic shields appear at the bottom of the central field, and a circular Latin legend runs along the border. |
