Obverse description At center, the crowned Polish eagle with wings spread, displayed in the traditional heraldic style of the Polish People's Republic, without a crown on the eagle's head as befitting the communist-era design. The date 1982 is divided by the eagle's talons, with 19 to the left and 82 to the right. The denomination 1000 ZŁ appears in large numerals along the lower portion of the field. The circular legend POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA runs along the periphery, interrupted by decorative dots, with the mint mark MW visible beneath the eagle.
