| Obverse description | The crowned Polish eagle displayed with wings spread, facing right, occupies the central field, rendered in high relief in the socialist-era style without a crown, as used by the Polish People's Republic. The date 1987 is divided on either side of the eagle's lower body, with the mint mark MW below. The denomination 1000 ZŁ appears in large numerals along the lower rim. The circular legend POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA runs along the upper periphery in Latin characters. |

| Reverse description | A stylized figure of an archer in full draw is depicted in the right-center field, rendered in a modernist, clean-line artistic style against a large concentric circular target motif that dominates the background. The contrast between the deeply recessed, darkened left portion of the field and the polished right field creates a striking two-tone visual effect characteristic of this Próba issue. The inscription PRÓBA appears to the right of the archer, and the year 1988 is placed in the lower right field. The legend IGRZYSKA XXIV OLIMPIADY curves along the upper periphery, referencing the XXIV Summer Olympiad held in Seoul. |
