Reverse description The central field depicts a cross-country skier in full stride, moving to the right, rendered in a dynamic and naturalistic style against a background of stylized parallel horizontal lines evoking a snowy landscape. The Roman numeral XV, denoting the 15th Winter Olympic Games, appears in the lower left of the field. To the lower right, the word PRÓBA (meaning 'trial' or 'pattern') is inscribed, confirming the piece's status as a trial strike. The arc legend ZIMOWE IGRZYSKA OLIMPIJSKIE curves along the upper periphery in Latin characters, identifying the Winter Olympic Games theme. The year 1988, corresponding to the Calgary Winter Olympics, is inscribed along the lower rim. The reverse was engraved by Ewa Tyc-Karpińska.
