To the right, the country name in traditional Mongolian vertical script; the Latin legend MONGOLIA appears along the right border. Reverse description A highly detailed, finely engraved frontal portrait of a tiger's head dominates the field, rendered with meticulous relief work depicting the striped fur, prominent whiskers, bared teeth, and facial musculature. Each eye is set with a small inset diamond (combined 0.1 carat), lending the design a striking three-dimensional quality. The date 1999 appears in Arabic numerals at the lower centre of the field, beneath the tiger's chin.
