Vertical Traditional Mongolian script characters flank the central emblem on either side. Reverse description The reverse displays a highly detailed, naturalistic depiction of a Gobi Desert scorpion rendered in high relief, shown in profile facing left with its segmented tail arched dramatically overhead and its pedipalp claws extended forward over a rocky desert surface. The curved legend 'WILDLIFE PROTECTION - GOBI DESERT ALIVE' arcs along the upper periphery in incuse Latin lettering. The date '2005' is inscribed at the bottom of the field below the scorpion. The design celebrates the conservation of Mongolian Gobi Desert fauna and is executed with fine engraving detail highlighting the scorpion's exoskeletal segmentation.
