Reverse description The reverse is executed in a single deep rose-carmine tone, dominated by a large intaglio panoramic vignette of the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, rendered in fine engraved line work with Huayna Picchu peak rising sharply in the background against a clouded sky. The label "MACHU PICCHU" appears in small lettering at lower right of the vignette, with denomination numeral "1000" set in guilloche cartouches at each corner. The bank title "BANCO CENTRAL DE RESERVA DEL PERU" runs across the top border and the denomination legend "MIL SOLES DE ORO" is set in a panel along the lower border.
