| Obverse description | The central field bears the full Ugandan coat of arms, depicting a shield supported by a Uganda kob (antelope) to the left and a grey crowned crane to the right, with crossed spears behind the shield and a sun motif at its centre. Below the shield, a scroll carries the national motto FOR GOD AND MY COUNTRY, flanked by stylised flora. The legend BANK OF UGANDA arcs along the upper periphery, the denomination 1000 SHILLINGS is inscribed along the lower periphery, and the date is divided on either side of the shield in the field. |
