Pattern issues from Bank of Uganda are rarely documented with precision, and KM#Pn3 is no exception — mintage figures remain unpublished. Uganda's mid-1990s monetary environment was still stabilizing after decades of disruption under Amin and Obote, and the 1000-shilling denomination at that point represented a relatively high face value for a circulating coin. Whether this pattern was rejected on cost grounds or simply superseded by a revised design is not recorded in standard references.
