Obverse description Brown decorative borders enclose a central letterpress composition centred on a vignette of Bombay landmarks, including the Town Hall, the Customs House, St. Andrew's Church, and the celebrated palm tree within Bombay Castle. The issuer name in bold serif capitals appears at the top, with the denomination repeated above and below the central imagery, and the promise-to-pay text, issue location, and board authorisation rendered in letterpress across the body of the note.
