| Reverse description | The reverse displays a highly detailed, gold-plated representation of the Cross of Euphrasyne of Polatsk (1161), the celebrated six-pointed Orthodox reliquary cross crafted by the master goldsmith Lazar Bohsha, set against a polished black arched panel at center. The cross is depicted in vibrant gold relief, adorned with gemstones rendered in red and green enamel, faithfully reproducing the ornate decorative program of the original 12th-century artifact. The Cyrillic legend 'КРЫЖ ЕЎФРАСІННІ ПОЛАЦКАЙ' is inscribed vertically in the left field, and '1161' appears vertically in the right field, both on a textured milled background. The overall composition contrasts the lustrous gold of the cross against the deep black field and silver coin surface. |
