Obverse description Central intaglio vignette shows the statue of Yaroslav I the Wise on a tall pedestal, rendered in fine line engraving against a guilloche underprint in green and lilac tones; to the right stands the Chapel of Our Lady of Kazan in Yaroslavl with its distinctive spire. The upper-left corner carries a teal medallion with the double-headed eagle emblem of the Bank of Russia, while the upper-right bears the arms of Yaroslavl in a holographic patch, and a colour-shifting numeral panel reading 1000 appears at the lower right.
