Obverse description A short-term 5% State Treasury obligation, with the Russian Imperial double-headed eagle arms vignette at left alongside the large numeral "1000" in an ornate cartouche. The central text in Cyrillic script states the obligation to pay one thousand roubles, with handwritten signatures of the Director of the State Treasury, Chief Accountant, and Bookkeeper below. The date "1 Мая 1917 г." (1 May 1917) appears at upper left, with the denomination "Руб. 1000." at upper right.
