| Obverse description | Central device depicts a stylized rendering of Mount Damavand, Iran's iconic volcanic peak, rendered in fine line engraving. Below the mountain, the large denomination numeral '۱۰۰۰' (1000) is prominently displayed in Eastern Arabic numerals, with the word 'ریال' (Rial) below it. The Iranian solar hijri date '۱۳۸۹' appears in the lower exergue. The upper legend reads 'جمهوری اسلامی ایران' (Islamic Republic of Iran), while the commemorative inscriptions noting World Statistics Day and its date flank the central design on either side. |
