Reverse description Central device displays the Imperial Arms of Brazil: a large shield bearing the armillary sphere surrounded by a ring of stars, surmounted by the Imperial Crown rendered in high relief. The shield is flanked on the left by a branch of coffee and on the right by a branch of tobacco, the two joined at the base by a decorative floral element with a small five-pointed star. The Latin legend IN HOC SIGNO VINCES is distributed around the upper periphery, interrupted by a small cross patée between SI and GNO. The design is enclosed within a beaded or toothed border.
