Obverse description The obverse features the denomination numeral '1000' in the center of the field, rendered in an ornate, stylized typeface and framed above and below by decorative horizontal rules terminating in small floral rosettes. This central device is enclosed within a wreath of laurel and coffee branches tied at the base. The circumferential legend reads PETRUS II. D.G. CONST. IMP. ET PERP. BRAS. DEF., abbreviated titles identifying Emperor Pedro II as Constitutional Emperor and Perpetual Defender of Brazil, with the mint year positioned at the bottom of the coin outside the wreath. The entire design is contained within a finely toothed border running along the coin's rim.
