The Queen's Beasts series concluded in 2021 with this completer coin, which reproduces all ten heraldic beasts from the 2017–2021 run in a single composition. The series itself was drawn from the ten animal supporters carved as stone statues for Elizabeth II's 1953 coronation at Westminster Abbey — figures that had largely faded from public consciousness until the Royal Mint revived them.
At 2,010 grams of .9999 fine silver, production tolerances at this scale demand individual quality checks that standard bullion striking simply cannot accommodate. The 150mm planchet size pushed the boundaries of the Mint's pressing equipment at Llantrisant.
