Obverse description The fifth and final definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as modelled by Jody Clark, is depicted in right-facing profile bust, wearing the George IV State Diadem crown and a drop pearl earring. The portrait is rendered with exceptional sculptural depth against a finely engine-turned guilloche field composed of concentric diamond-pattern hatching. The surrounding legend, disposed in a segmented arc with raised lettering, reads ELIZABETH II · D · G · REG · F · D · 1000 POUNDS, with the engraver's initials J.C. incused below the truncation. The overall composition reflects the high-relief striking characteristic of the Royal Mint's premium bullion issues.

Reverse description The reverse displays Philip Nathan's celebrated standing figure of Britannia, rendered in high relief, shown facing left in dynamic, windswept pose. She wears a flowing classical robe and crested helmet, holds a long trident in her raised right hand, and bears a Union Jack-decorated shield at her left side. The figure stands upon rocky coastal ground against a honeycomb-patterned background field, with a small security feature depicted as a latent-image disc to the lower left. The surrounding legend reads BRITANNIA · 2022 · 2 KILO · 999.5 · PLATINUM, with the motto DECUS ET TUTAMEN repeated in small lettering within the inner border, and the engraver's name NATHAN inscribed at the base.
