| Obverse description | At center, a square shield bearing the city gate of Medellin — a fortified stone structure with twin towers and a central gateway — surmounted by a heraldic figure. Flanking the shield on either side are olive or laurel sprays. The curved legend REPUBLICA DE COLOMBIA arcs across the upper field, while the commemorative dates 1675 - 1975 appear in the lower field below the shield. A beaded border follows the square perimeter of the coin. |
