Obverse description Black intaglio print on a multicolor guilloche underprint. An oval vignette at left carries a finely engraved portrait of the Aztec emperor Cuauhtémoc, identified by a caption beneath; denomination numerals "1000" occupy ornate cartouches at each corner, with the value legend centred within a guilloche medallion. Three signature lines for Consejero, Interventor de la Com. Nac. Bancaria, and Cajero run along the lower margin beneath the issuing institution's title.

Reverse description Dark intaglio central vignette presents an engraved view of El Castillo pyramid at Chichén Itzá, flanked by trees and framed by scrollwork ornaments, with the caption "El Castillo, Chichen-Itza" below. Large counter-cartouches bearing the numeral "1000" flank the scene at left and right, and the issuer's title arches across the top within a bold banner. The printer's imprint appears at the foot of the note.
