Obverse description The national arms of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic occupy the central field, depicting two crossed rifles beneath a crescent moon and five-pointed star, flanked on either side by olive branches. A ribbon scroll at the base of the arms bears the Arabic motto. The bilingual legend REPUBLICA SAHARAUI appears along the left periphery in Latin script, while the Arabic equivalent الجمهورية الصحراوية runs along the right. The denomination 1000 and the Arabic designation بسيطة صحراوية are inscribed at the lower right and bottom of the coin respectively, with two five-pointed stars serving as punctuation at the lower left and right.
