| Additional information |
Western Sahara has no functioning government with recognized minting authority — the territory has been administered by Morocco since 1976 following Spain's withdrawal, while the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic holds partial international recognition but no actual mint. Coins attributed to "Western Sahara" in this period were produced almost exclusively for the collector market by outside private mints, with no meaningful circulation history in the territory itself.
KM#88 is part of a thematic commemorative run with no particular connection to the issuing territory.
