| Obverse description | A naturalistic vignette of a Galápagos green sea turtle dominates the left portion of the note against a terracotta and sky-blue background with geometric guilloche underprint panels; the right field carries translucent botanical leaf vignettes, a branch of Annona cherimola, a circular guilloche rosette, and a stamp-style inset inscribed 'Islas Galápagos' with the Stoic motto 'Ducunt volentem fata, nolentem trahunt,' accompanied by a small lizard silhouette and a compass rose underprint in the central register. The denomination '1000' appears in large numerals at upper center with 'MIL NUEVOS SUCRES' in bold green letterpress below, flanked by the series designation 'SERIA AA' and a facsimile signature above the title 'GERENTE GENERAL.' A hexagonal holographic element is affixed at lower right. |

This is a fantasy note — the Galápagos Islands have no central bank and issue no currency. Ecuador has used the US dollar as its official currency since 2000, following the catastrophic sucre collapse. The "Nuevo Sucre" denomination never existed in official Ecuadorian monetary history; the sucre was simply abandoned, not redenominated.
Fantasy polymer pieces like this are produced commercially for novelty or collector markets, with no issuing authority behind them. The sucre's name honors Antonio José de Sucre, but invoking it here is pure branding.
