| Obverse description | Central field features the Dungkar (conch shell), one of the Eight Auspicious Symbols of Buddhism, depicted in high relief atop a lotus pedestal and surrounded by stylised cloud and floral scrollwork within an ornate inner border. The legend KINGDOM OF BHUTAN arcs along the upper periphery in Latin script, with the inscription DUNGKAR to the left of the central device and the denomination Nu. 1000 positioned below. Dzongkha script appears along the lower margin within the decorative border. |
