| Obverse description | Three-quarter left-facing bust of the Renaissance architect Filippo di Ser Brunelleschi dominates the field, rendered in high relief with fine sculptural detail including his characteristic draped hood and cap. To the lower left, a small architectural vignette depicting figures atop a construction scaffold alludes to Brunelleschi's celebrated engineering achievements. The engraver's signature BINO BINI appears incuse at the truncation. The curved legend FILIPPO DI SER BRUNELLESCO arcs around the upper periphery, while the commemorative dates 1377 - 1977 are prominently displayed in the lower exergue, marking the 600th anniversary of the architect's birth. |

| Reverse description | A scene depicting four medieval workers or craftsmen standing on a timber scaffolding platform, rendered in low relief in the style of a Renaissance bas-relief, evoking the construction of Brunelleschi's dome of the Florence Cathedral. The figures are framed by diagonal wooden poles and rigging suggestive of an active building site. The legend REPUBBLICA DI SAN MARINO is divided on either side of the central scene, reading vertically along the left and right periphery respectively, with DI appearing at the top. The denomination L. 1000 is inscribed in bold characters in the lower exergue, with the engraver's signature MONASSI INC. beneath it. |
