| Obverse description | The Zambian national coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring two human supporters flanking a shield surmounted by an African fish eagle with outstretched wings, and a scroll below bearing the national motto ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION. The issue date 1998 is split to either side of the arms in the middle field. The legend BANK OF ZAMBIA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 1000 KWACHA is inscribed along the lower periphery in bold lettering. |
