A "billete fantasía" — a fantasy note — is not legal tender and carries no monetary authority. These are commercially produced novelty items, often sold as gifts or collectors' curiosities, and this piece has no official relationship with the Bank of Zambia despite bearing its name. The attribution is decorative, not institutional.

Zambia did transition to genuine polymer banknotes for its rebased kwacha series, which lends these fantasy items a superficial plausibility. The real 2012–2015 polymer issues were printed by De La Rue.
