Obverse description The crowned coat of arms of the Republic of Croatia — a red-and-white chequered shield surmounted by a royal crown — is displayed prominently in the centre of the field, flanked on either side by the split date '19' to the left and '94.' to the right. The denomination '1000 KUNA' appears in large numerals below the arms, accompanied by two decorative sprigs of olive and laurel extending across the lower field. The circular legend 'REPUBLIKA HRVATSKA' runs along the upper periphery in incuse Latin lettering.
