Obverse description The obverse is dominated by intricate guilloche underprint across the central field, with the denomination "ETT TUSEN KRONOR" in bold letterpress at centre and the bank name "SVERIGES RIKSBANK" arching across the upper portion. A vignette at the lower right presents an allegorical female figure (Svea) seated with a shield and lion, rendered in fine intaglio engraving. The date and serial number appear in red at upper right and lower left, with two manuscript signatures below the central text.

Reverse description The reverse is centred on a large intaglio portrait vignette of King Gustav Vasa set within a diamond-shaped frame, the bearded king rendered in fine engraving wearing a plumed hat and period costume. Flanking the central portrait are two oval guilloche medallions each carrying the numeral "1000", all enclosed within an ornate geometric border. The bank name and denomination are inscribed in a circular legend surrounding the portrait vignette.
