Denmark's 1000-krone note has historically attracted forgers disproportionately — it was the country's highest denomination in general circulation, and the Type 2 enhancement of this series was a direct response to counterfeit pressure that emerged shortly after the Type 1 release. The hologram strip in particular was upgraded in specification relative to earlier printings.

Six distinct signature combinations across three prefixes make this a more complex series than the print run figure suggests. The 2006 issues with prefix B3 alone carry three different signing pairs — a consequence of personnel changes at Danmarks Nationalbank during the period rather than any reissue event.
