Issued to mark the millennium, this 1000 Korún was the last commemorative banknote produced for Slovakia before the series was retired ahead of euro adoption. Thomas De La Rue handled production, with engraving by Jim Moore — a craftsman whose intaglio work appeared on notes for dozens of issuing authorities during his career at De La Rue. Jozef Bubák, who designed much of the Slovak koruna series, provided the artwork.
Pick 39 carries only a watermark and security thread for authentication, a relatively sparse security specification for a high-denomination note issued at the turn of the millennium.
