| Obverse description | The national arms of the Lao People's Democratic Republic are depicted centrally in the field, featuring the That Luang stupa flanked by stylised grain sheaves and a cogwheel at the base, surmounted by a decorative wreath. The legend THE LAO PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC curves along the upper periphery in Latin script, while the denomination 1000 KIP appears in the lower field.
