| Obverse description | Printed in dark gray and green on white cotton paper, the obverse is dominated by elaborate abstract geometric and crystalline vignettes inspired by the lapwing (kievit), with a large stylized starburst rosette at center-left and a smaller circular security motif at lower right. The numeral "1000" appears in large intaglio characters at upper center, with the denomination "DUIZEND GULDEN" in bold green letterpress along the bottom. The bank title "DE NEDERLANDSCHE BANK" runs across the top, signature lines for President and Secretaris are positioned at upper right alongside the issue date, and an anti-counterfeiting warning appears in fine print below the denomination. |
